MTG-DOLPHIN DELIVERS “CASTOR”

MTG-Dolphin delivered today the third tug of a series of five vessels to Navigation Maritime Bulgare (Navibulgar). At a christening ceremony held at the Port of Varna the ship received the name “CASTOR”.
Like the previous two tugs in the series, it was built to the Robert Allan Ltd RAmparts 2700 design. “CASTOR” is in line with the rules and regulations of Bureau Veritas and will sail under a Bulgarian flag. The tug’s sister ships were delivered to the ship owner in June 2017 and June 2018, respectively.
“CASTOR” is 27.6 m long and 10 m wide. Its draft is 3.95 m. The ship is powered by two Caterpillar engines of 1800 hp, with two rotating Azipod Drives. The tug is fitted with an aft towing winch. Bollard pull is 40 tonnes.
Having an unrestricted navigation class notation, “CASTOR” can perform both port and sea towage, also in hard conditions.
