On the 23rd of May 2019, the third consecutive trailing hopper dredger, building No.803/CO1295, for Dutch Dredging received her name “Lesse” at an official ceremony in MTG Dolphin Shipyard, Varna.
The vessel is an improved version of the previously built “Albatros” and “Mahury” and is designed to maintain sea and inland waterways, as well as to perform land reclamation. The hopper dredger is equipped with the latest electronic system for positioning, sounding and execution of dredging work. With a dredging depth of 30m below the waterline and a hopper capacity of 2 300 m3, the LESSE is extremely efficient and can be deployed worldwide. Special attention is given to the reduction of the operational costs, which is achieved by designing the ship for a maximum uptime, by applying more wear resistant materials and by deploying maintenance free equipment on board.
Keel laying for 2’300 m3 Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger took place at MTG Dolphin on 21st of December 2017.
This is the third project, built in cooperation and by order of Royal IHC for Baggerbedrijf de Boer – Dutch Dredging.
The delivery of the vessel is expected in January 2019.
Cutting of the first steel plate for the new project – 2’300 m3 Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger for Baggerbedrijf de Boer – Dutch Dredging took place at MTG Dolphin on 19th of October 2017.
This is the third project, built in cooperation and by order of Royal IHC for Dutch Dredging.
The ship will be 80 m of length, 15 m of breadth and with 2’300 m3 of hopper capacity.
The vessel is being built under the class of Bureau Veritas.
The Contract was signed in July 2017 and the delivery of the vessel is expected in January 2019.
“MTG DOLPHIN” Shipyard successfully delivered the hull for “1350 kW Cutter Suction Dredger”, ordered by “IHC Holland” BV, the Netherlands
Cutter power 170 kW

Diameter of suction pipe 550 m
Cutting of the first steel plate for the new project – 3‘500 m3 Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger „Minerva” took place at MTG Dolphin on 4th of February 2016.
The sections for the ship will be built again in cooperation with the Dutch Royal IHC company, and the Client is Belgian DEME – Dredging Environmental and Marine Engineering N.V.
This vessel has bigger capacity than the previously built dredgers in the Yard – her hopper is of 3500 m3 and she is the first dredger using the “dual fuel” technology for the work of the main engines – with diesel or LNG.
The ship will be equipped with 80 cm suction tube, suitable for dredging to a depth of 30 m. the dredging material will be discharged through three bottom doors to a floating line or rainbow nozzle.
Characteristics of the vessel:
Length: 86.2 m
Breath: 17.3 m
Draught (loaded): 5 m
Hopper capacity: 3 500 m3
A short official ceremony took place at MTG Dolphin Shipyard on 29th October for the Name giving of 1’840m2 TSHD “Mahury”.
The ship is designed to maintain waterways, sea and inland waterways, as well as to participate in land reclamation. Dredging depth bellow waterline is 30 meters and the hopper capacity is 1 840 m3. The vessel is equipped with the newest electronic system for positioning, sounding and execution of dredging work.
Designing and equipment of “Mahury” are directed at the optimization of the crew, reducing its number to 8 people.
The vessel will be delivered to the Shipowner end of 2015.
On 22nd of April 2015 the Keel laying event for the 1,840 m3 TSHD took place at MTG Dolphin Shipyard. The ship is being built under building number BN802 by order of Royal IHC for Dutch Dredging and will be delivered in late autumn of 2015.
She is a standardized twin screw trailing suction hopper dredger. This is the fourth order by Royal IHC.
