MTG-Dolphin awarded for quality by KRIB

The high standards of shipbuilding set and pursued by MTG-Dolphin earned the company the big prize in the “Quality” category at the Fifth annual ball of the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (KRIB), which took place on the 4th of June, 2019.
The statuette was presented to Svetlin Stoyanov, executive director of MTG-Dolphin, by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov. The ceremony, which was held at Sofia Tech Park brought together more than 400 representatives of industry and government.
In the strong competition of eight more Bulgarian companies, MTG-Dolphin stood out with no less than eight ships delivered to customers in only a year
“The level of satisfaction of our clients is mirrored in the fact that 75% of the ships delivered are for partners with whom we have already worked. The integrated quality management system, as well as the commitment of our staff at all levels, leads to a result meeting all the requirements of the classification societies and the shipowners,” says MTG-Dolphin’s Svetlin Stoyanov.

Name giving ceremony of 2’300m3 TSHD „LESSE“

On the 23rd of May 2019, the third consecutive trailing hopper dredger, building No.803/CO1295, for Dutch Dredging received her name “Lesse” at an official ceremony in MTG Dolphin Shipyard, Varna.

The vessel is an improved version of the previously built “Albatros” and “Mahury” and is designed to maintain sea and inland waterways, as well as to perform land reclamation. The hopper dredger is equipped with the latest electronic system for positioning, sounding and execution of dredging work. With a dredging depth of 30m below the waterline and a hopper capacity of 2 300 m3, the LESSE is extremely efficient and can be deployed worldwide. Special attention is given to the reduction of the operational costs, which is achieved by designing the ship for a maximum uptime, by applying more wear resistant materials and by deploying maintenance free equipment on board.

An Eco Tanker for Rubis Eastern Caribbean

On 27 February, at MTG-Dolphin Shipyard a name-giving ceremony was held to mark MTG-Dolphin’s successfully delivering a newly-built oil product transportation tanker to Rubis Eastern Caribbean. The tanker, to sail the seas as Bahama Blue, adds to the fleet of vessels of one of the major players in the distribution of high quality petroleum products in the Caribbean. This is the second tanker in a row that is being delivered by MTG-Dolphin to its owner in only three months’ time, after in November of 2017 the Shipyard rolled out a highly-automated bunkering vessel, operated by an Italian company. The new tanker is designed and constructed to satisfy all the applicable rules of RINA and the Maltese flag state, and measures 64m overall with a beam of 12m and a maximum draft of 3.6m. Bahama Blue has been assigned unrestricted navigation notation and operates at the highest degree of automation. The propulsion is diesel-electric, powering two L-drive 360’ azimuthing units and a bow thruster that guarantee the tanker’s exceptional maneuverability and the capability to navigate even in the most challenging ports in the Caribbean. Bahama Blue is fitted a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system and DPF filters. This has allowed the ship to receive a Green+ additional class notation – a marker for the tanker’s covering the highest environmental protection standards. During the ceremony representatives of Rubis Caribbean commented that the company was extremely satisfied with the quality of the ship and with the cooperation with MTG-Dolphin and revealed plans to order additional vessels from the Yard.
